Step 1: Participant Interest Form

 

  • The interest form for 2017 Veterans’ Day weekend, Thanksgiving break, Winter break, and (2018) MLK weekend trips will be available on Knight Connect August 7 – September 8 at 5pm.
  • The interest form for 2018 Spring Break trips will be available on Knight Connect September 18 – November 17 at 5pm.

1. Copy and paste https://ucf.campuslabs.com/engage/ into your web browser
2. Sign in with your NID and password
4. In the search box, type “ABP” and select “Volunteer UCF Alternative Break Program” under Organizations.
5. Under “Forms”, find the “Participant Interest Form” and click to fill it out.

Step 2: Lottery Knight

 

  • September 15, 6:30-9:30pm in SU 316 for Veterans’ Day weekend, Thanksgiving break, Winter break, and MLK weekend trips
  • November 28th, 6:30-9:30pm in SU 316 for Spring Break trips

There is a $100 deposit due (by cash, check, or money order) at the Lottery Knight if you are selected.

To participate in Lottery Knight, you must have completed a Participant Interest Form on KnightConnect prior to the event. At the beginning of the event, if you have completed the interest form, you will be assigned a number. We will randomly draw numbers and once your assigned number is selected, you will be able to sign up for one trip that you want to be a participant on. If the trip you wanted is completely full, you can sign up as an alternate for two trips. After the selection process, you will have your first meeting with your Program Coordinator and your trip team that night!

About

The Alternative Break Advisor plays a crucial role in helping students increase their awareness of the social topic(s) throughout the week in a safe and effective manner.   Responsibilities of this position include:

1. Attend all scheduled Advisor training sessions and meetings
2. Manage ABP trip funds and all associated financial documentation, along with the student Coordinator
3. Ensure that all University rules and regulations are upheld
4. Enforce the ABP Alcohol Policy
5. Make certain that the transport vehicle is used carefully and returned undamaged
6. Ensure that students behave in a manner representative of UCF and The UCF CREED
7. Help the student Coordinator develop his/her leadership skills and experience
8. Facilitate the student learning process, including reflection activities
