Knights Give Back Registration – 2018

Volunteer UCF would like to invite you to participate in our annual Knights Give Back! Knights Give Back is Volunteer UCF’s largest annual volunteer opportunity. During this day, UCF students come together and participate in service opportunities in the Orlando community. We partner with various organizations that focus on different social issues. This year, we are having a mini-pool party after the service experience to thank our volunteers for serving with us. This event is a great opportunity for you to bond with your fellow RSO members while also serving the Orlando community. Registration forms for Knights Give Back are on our KnightConnect Page! The event is on October 20th from 7:15 am - 2:00 pm (service will be completed from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm). Group check in starts at 7:15am Individual check in starts at 7:30am In order to attend Knights Give Back, volunteers must RSVP on KnightConnect, and fill out a registration form. Additionally, all volunteers must fill out a waiver. This year we have two different registration processes:  Group registration Group leaders must provide a roster of all group members who will be attending, as well as their Knights email addresses. KNIGHTS GIVE BACK PARTICIPANTS FAQ HOW DO I REGISTER? If you are a student, simply log in to your Knight Connect using your NID and NID password. Once logged in search Volunteer UCF, and scroll down to forms after selecting our organizations page. For a group larger than 10 persons please fill out the group form, otherwise fill out the individual registration form. WHY SHOULD I PREREGISTER? Preregistering will allow us to place you at the site you’d most prefer and prevent you from waiting in long check-in lines. CAN I PICK MY SITE? Students who don’t preregister will be placed randomly at any remaining sites with open spots. WILL MY GROUP BE SEPARATED? If you do not pre-register your group will most likely be separated. WHAT WILL THE DAY OF THE EVENT LOOK LIKE? Check-in will start for groups at 7:30 am and at 8:45 for individuals. After opening ceremonies, students will be bussed or walked to their site and will return to the arena to leave by 1 pm.

Orlando Ave. Maitland, FL 32751 Why: To raise awareness around the food insecurity of summer for our community's children & their families and to help stock our emergency food pantry! Join us to help kick off our Hunger Doesn't Vacation initiative, stock our emergency food pantry and discover ways you and your family can get involved! The evening promises to be an enjoyable event for the whole family, with refreshments provided by CFOC and WMMO 98.9, live music, and fun activities, including an "ArCANtecture" competition, hosted by our partners, Wildly Different. EduMatics is looking for volunteers this summer to teach during the week. In the subjects of Math, English and Reading/ Writing. Components: Natural Questioning Process (NQP), Quick Notes (QN), The Most Commonly Asked Reading Comprehension Questions on Standardized Tests and Vocabulary Workshop, with a focus on common core standards. Math 360 June 22nd – 26th 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. / July 13th – 17th 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Students will master Common Core Math Standards and practice the latest techniques used to simplify difficult math concepts: Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Data Analysis and Statistics, and Measurement. Writers Write June 15th – 19th 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. / June 29th – July 3rd 10 a.m. - p.m. Students will learn how to compose a universally accepted essay using the SANDWICH model. Each Student’s essay will be compiled and actually PUBLISHED!!!!!! Your student will be a certified PUBLISHED AUTHOR!
