About

What is Knight-Thon?

Knight-Thon, Dance Marathon at the University of Central Florida, benefits Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. We are UCF’s largest student-run philanthropy and part of the national Miracle Network Dance Marathon movement. Knight-Thon is a yearlong effort in which we raise funds and awareness for our local kids, leading up to our celebration in the spring. Last year, our campus joined together to raise $621,657.27!

Where does the money raised through Knight-Thon go?

100% of the funds raised through Knight-Thon support our hospital, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. The money raised through Knight-Thon serves the hospital’s greatest area of need. Some examples of things Knight-Thon has helped fund are diapers, incubators, our child-life program, transport vehicles, procedures, and so much more!

The Event

Each year, our year long efforts lead to our Main Event, a Dance Marathon. Every hour on the hour, students partake in our “Morale” dance, taking them out of their comfort zone and into the dance marathon spirit. To inspire our students to remain standing, our Miracle Children are welcomed onstage alongside their families, and courageously share their stories of diagnosis, defeat, and newfound hope.

But Knight-Thon is not only inspirational, it’s fun! Students have plenty of entertainment and activities. In past years, we’ve had everything from bounce houses to hypnotists, and there’s never a dull moment. There’s food, merchandise, and a day packed with free entertainment. Even better, you get to do all of this with your fellow Knights! Knight-Thon is part of the ultimate UCF experience that brings you closer to your campus community.
