Create An Organization

How It Works

Have an idea for a new student organization at UCF? We’re here to help you bring it to life! The Office of Student Involvement supports students in forming RSOs that align with their passions, backgrounds, academic interests, and future goals.
Before getting started, we encourage you to explore KnightConnect to see if a similar organization already exists. Be sure to log-in with your NID and NID password. There may already be a group doing what you’re passionate about, or one you can partner with. If not, we’d love to support you in building something brand new.

Note: Registration for new student organizations opens in the Fall semester. In order to create a new student organization, you must follow the steps and collect all the information to complete the application:

Process for Creating a New Student Organization

  1. KnightQuest Consultation (Mandatory):
  2. Prepare Your Team & Materials:
    • Gather at least 10 currently enrolled UCF students with NID emails, including the President and at least one additional officer.
    • Download and complete the UCF RSO Constitution Template.
    • Identify a faculty or staff advisor if your group is an ASO or DSSO (GSO advisors are optional).
  3. Complete the Webcourses Quiz:
    • All officers who will serve as ‘Authorized Officers’ must log into Webcourses, complete, and pass the self-enrolled RSO Authorized Officer Quiz. You will need to include it in your New Organization Registration Application.
  4. Check KnightConnect for Existing Organizations:
    • Search KnightConnect to ensure your organization isn’t duplicating another RSO. If you are creating a truly new group, move on to the application.
  5. Submit a New Registered Student Organization Application on KnightConnect:
    • Application is available under forms in KnightConnect.
    • Form is open during placeholdertime and placeholdertime.
    • Be sure to include:
      • Quiz Score from Webcourses
      • Constitution
      • Mission Statement
      • Advisor (if applicable)
      • External Affiliation Documents (if applicable)
  6. Wait for Approval:
    • May take up to two weeks to be processed, so please be patient!
    • You will not receive a personal email from our office. Instead, check your UCF email from a message from KnightConnect: noreply@campusgroups.com with your registration status.
    • If your application is approved, your RSO will be officially registered and listed on KnightConnect.
    • If denied, you will receive comments explaining what needs to be fixed. You are welcome to resubmit your application during the registration window with any changes made.
