Communications Intern


The Communications Intern will work closely with both the Marketing Coordinator and Graduate Assistant for Communications. Our interns are required to work 3-5 hours a week. Among other responsibilities, the Communications Intern will oversee OSI’s social media accounts (including, but not limited to, Facebook, X, Instagram) and the official OSI Newsletter.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Coordinator and Graduate Assistant to which (s)he reports
  • Oversee OSI’s social media platforms
  • Continuous social media management through all relevant platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram
  • Create/maintain a comprehensive social media and marketing plan
  • Socialize with other student leaders, RSOs, and agencies to obtain integral information to promote on OSI social media
  • Represent and promote OSI at various events, tabling opportunities, and meetings
  • Create a monthly newsletter that is distributed to students with upcoming opportunities and information
  • Supervise and coordinate marketing opportunities during orientation
  • Research and implement creative promotional materials
  • Supervise and coordinate marketing opportunities during orientation, must be available during the Summer
  • Attend and cover large campus events to obtain social media content
  • Assist with other Creative Services areas

Knights of the Turntables: DJ


Knights of the Turntables (KOT) aims to provide the UCF community with a fun, low-cost way of bringing DJ, music, emcee, and live audio services to events.

Responsibilities

  • DJing on campus events
  • Professional communication with clients and KOT staff
  • Representing KOT and OSI on campus
  • Flexibility at events
  • Ensuring upkeep of all equipment

Graphic Designer


Design Group, part of Creative Services, is a team of students creating graphics, illustrations, and promotional material for the Office of Student Involvement. Our work is designed by our staff of creative UCF students for all of OSI’s agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates ads, posters, banners, flyers, brochures, t-shirts, and other graphics requests
  • Adheres to UCF and OSI policies for graphics standards
  • Communicates effectively with all agency contacts
  • Ensures that work is proofed before completion
  • Appropriately files completed work throughout the semester on the designated drive space
  • Keeps track of the time it takes to complete each work order
  • Works on special projects for the OSI Design Group
  • Acts as a team player within OSI
  • Attends weekly Design Group staff meetings
  • Creates both aesthetically pleasing material that is completed within the deadline of completion

SG Student Assistant


The mission of the Office of Student Involvement (OSI) is to provide quality programs, services, and leadership opportunities that enrich students’ academic endeavors and enhance the campus environment. Students and staff collaborate to develop programs and services which encourage student’s personal growth, to promote civic responsibility, to embrace differences, and connect students to the campus and the community.

  • Complete detailed minutes of each Senate meeting
  • Maintain and manage all Senate legislation
  • Compile Senate Committee Meeting minutes weekly
  • Serve as a resource for GA and SG staff
  • Meet with the GA and SG Staff at least once per semester for a job performance evaluation
  • Participate in conversations developing office policies and procedures
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Coordinator, OSI Associate Director, or OSI Director
  • Other duties as assigned

Weekly Hours: Up to 20
Payrate: $11/hr
