Programs

The Volunteer UCF agency is dedicated to promoting community service and education on various social issues to the University of Central Florida, through a variety of programs, committees, events, and ongoing projects. VUCF connects students with community organizations that best fit their interests, talents, and majors. We work with over 200 community agencies that utilize UCF student volunteers. Through volunteerism, students can gain valuable knowledge and experience, have a great time, and meet new friends–all while benefiting the community.

Voter Engagement

The Knights Vote committee is a collaborative, nonpartisan team across the university that will create campus voting goals, provide valuable perspectives, and champion democratic engagement for the university. The mission of Knights Vote is simple: to igknight a passion for civic learning, democratic engagement, and voter engagement in our Knights community. Knights Vote is committed to making voter engagement a priority across Knight Nation!

Community Connectors

Community Connectors strives to connect students to intentional and long-term service in partnership with community organizations surrounding UCF. Students have the opportunity to build strong relationships with community partners while having space to engage in meaningful reflections on root causes and pathways for future engagement and impact.

Deliberative Dialogues

Deliberation is a conversation in which people tackle controversial problems that are not easily solved and weigh different approaches with an open mind. Deliberative Dialogues are “not a debate. It’s not a contest. It’s not even reaching an agreement or seeing eye-to-eye. It’s about looking for a shared direction guided by what we value most.” Deliberative Dialogues are guided conversations of difficult topics. This model of conversation removes polarizing positions and one- sided lectures by simply asking participants to investigate specific solutions to an issue through the help of an issue guide and facilitator.

Service RSO Council

OSI VCE is starting a Registered Student Organization (RSO) Service Council. The goal of this council is to support student leaders who oversee these organizations while providing additional opportunities for collaboration, resource sharing, and professional development.

We are currently seeking organizational leaders to join this council. Qualified council leaders will lead organizations that have volunteerism and community engagement at the core of their organization’s mission. In the first year, council meetings will be run by the Volunteerism and Community Engagement professional staff. Throughout the year, we’ll identify leaders to serve as the chair of the council. The council will meet 3 times a semester and will focus meetings on resource sharing and collaboration.

If you are interested in joining this council, please reach out to Amanda Dever (amanda.dever@ucf.edu) and fill out our interest form here. We look forward to collaborating with you!
