Graduate Assistantships


The Office of Student Involvement (OSI) supports student success and enhances the campus environment by focusing on our core principles – Connect, Involve, Impact -through quality programs, services, student leadership opportunities, and intentional environments.

Web Designer


Design Group, part of Creative Services, is a team of students creating graphics, illustrations, and promotional material for the Office of Student Involvement. Our work is designed by our staff of creative UCF students for all of OSI’s agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates, edits, and designs web pages as requested by OSI agencies
  • Adheres to UCF and OSI policies for marketing and web accessibility standards
  • Works with agency leaders to decide on the presentation of content in WordPress
  • Uses branches to stage new features for review by other developers
  • Documents latest developments for future reference
  • Keeps track of the time it takes to complete each work order
  • Works on special projects for the OSI Design Group
  • Acts as a team player within OSI
  • Attends weekly Design Group staff meetings
  • Creates both aesthetically pleasing material that is completed within the deadline of completion

Requirements:

  • Well-versed in front-end web design (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with a content management system (CMS), preferably WordPress
  • Experience with some Version-Control System (Git)
  • Partial experience with back-end development (PHP)
  • Must be a team player and collaborate with other developers, graphic designers, and student leaders when necessary
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with clients
  • Attention to detail and creativity in problem-solving
  • 10-20 hours/week of in-office web design work
  • Maturity and professionalism
