Did the Legislature change this law because UCF was not committed to free speech?

No. UCF has always been and remains committed to free speech. The reality here at UCF is that UCF has always supported free speech – by students, by employees, by invited speakers, and by uninvited speakers. UCF has not had any instances where events were materially disrupted or were canceled or postponed due to disruption.
