For most of our volunteer programs, you do not need additional training or experience to serve. We try to work with community partners to develop programs that we accessible for most of our student volunteers. For some specific volunteer programs, yes – you might need specific training to serve. We will make sure to include any additional training necessary in the event description. Some of our partners require a background check prior to service. If this is a requirement for your project, your volunteer leader will be in touch with you to begin that process. VCE is unable to faciliate background checks on behalf of community organizations. However, if your organization runs internal background checks, or uses a third-party entity, we can communicate this requirement to volunteers before committing to the opportunity.
